For the Month of Love challenge: ‘’Lost in Translation”
I picked the two main characters from Robin McKinley’s book about icky, gross, non-sparkly vampires. Sunshine is a baker whose magic comes from sunlight, and Con is an undead corpse. The two of them have to figure out a way to make their bizarre friendship work.
…so as usual what was supposed to be a warm up speed painting exercise took off and ran away from me and decided to be a full illustration. the idea for this is inspired by the lush and evocative writing of the lovely @nocturnememory

– in 2018 between commissioned art and projects i’m going to finally start on a series i’ve been wanting to create for a while now: a dark fairytales set of drawings. starting with my version of Beauty and the Beast.
next up in january will be my take on the tale of Aschenputtel (and her weeping tree)
