Episode 022: oH Dragon!

RADIANCE by Grace Draven

THE PRINCE OF NO VALUE

Brishen Khaskem, prince of the Kai, has lived content as the nonessential spare heir to a throne secured many times over. A trade and political alliance between the human kingdom of Gaur and the Kai kingdom of Bast-Haradis requires that he marry a Gauri woman to seal the treaty. Always a dutiful son, Brishen agrees to the marriage and discovers his bride is as ugly as he expected and more beautiful than he could have imagined.

THE NOBLEWOMAN OF NO IMPORTANCE

Ildiko, niece of the Gauri king, has always known her only worth to the royal family lay in a strategic marriage. Resigned to her fate, she is horrified to learn that her intended groom isn’t just a foreign aristocrat but the younger prince of a people neither familiar nor human. Bound to her new husband, Ildiko will leave behind all she’s known to embrace a man shrouded in darkness but with a soul forged by light.

Two people brought together by the trappings of duty and politics will discover they are destined for each other, even as the powers of a hostile kingdom scheme to tear them apart.

Fluffy fantasy romance about two people who look like monstrous nightmares to each other.

Part 2, Eidolon, is also very much worth reading. Darker than the first book, it’s just as interesting and I think I loved the characters even more.

If Draven doesn’t write an additional book for Anhuset and Serovek and makes them finally kill each other during sex or something, I will riot. The plot of Kirgipa and Necos was also interesting and I would love to see how their stories developed.

Important addition

WOLF CHILDREN (2013)

After her werewolf lover unexpectedly dies in an accident, a woman must find a way to raise the werewolf son and daughter that she had with him. But their inheritance of their father’s traits proved to be a challenge for her. (IMBD)

Their love story in short:

And then he dies…

BUT!

It’s just the first part of the story.

Hana’s struggle to keep her children safe and give them a chance to truly be themselves is one of the most beautiful and heart wrenching stories I’ve seen in recent years. Seriously, I was crying almost throughout the whole film. The story concludes on an melancholy yet uplifting note and if you are not a snivelling mess by the end of it YOU HAVE NO HEART.

Who needs social events when you get three books at once in your mailbox right?? I like Radiance so far, a very interesting interspecies romance with a monstrous guy, recommended by @fuck-yeah-monsters-and-villains, and another two books by Juliet Marillier because I loved her Blackthorn and Grim series so much!

Not having to be at any social events is a blessing.😉 I usually prefer a good book over those pesky social activities.

My Dark King

terato-romance:

So about two years ago I wrote a Reylo fanfic which is totally terato, but back then I didn’t know what teratophilia was and why I was into fantastic horned creatures and all. Lol.

Trigger warning for impregnation and a bit of blood.

***

Rey clenched her fingers on the flower bouquet, dipping her head to smell them, lilies and purple lilac brushed her nose as she inhaled their scent. It was almost time.

She felt as if it was only yesterday when she met him the first time. Running through the woods with her friends, playing a game, she tried not to get caught. Looking for a good place to hide, she reached a spring breaking from a huge rock, covered in little white flowers.

Beside it, there was a man, covered in black up to his neck, sitting, looking at the water. It was a stranger, Rey never saw him before. Surely, she would remember such a face. Beautiful profile, prominent nose and plump lips. He raised his head, covered in luscious locks of raven hair, reaching his shoulders. His eyes, dark, but somehow warm in the afternoon sun, met hers, and Rey found herself under a spell. He reached out to her and she took a step forward, unsure, but unable to refuse him.

Reylo & monster content all in one sexy fic.😍

ever-hungry-aria:

My first try to draw an orc. This is how I imagine Riyu from The Sorceress’s Orc looked like. He had a mane of long black hair with many little braids and lots of golden earrings. It was never mentioned if he had any facial hair but I decided to give him some because why not…

And as you can see, I’m shit at coloring.

Ooohhh, the future husband? Congratulations!😀

STAINED GLASS MONSTERS by Andrea K. Höst

Creatures from the Eferum are a world-wide problem: creeping through tears in the fabric of space, they feast on every unprotected human they can find.

Tyrland has a solution in the Kellian: faster and stronger than humans, they are Tyrland’s clawed, shadowy monster hunters. But no matter how faithfully they serve, or how true their sworn word, they are too different, too separate, to ever be entirely trusted.

Rennyn Claire is a complication. Secretive and obscenely powerful, she knows entirely too much about a massive new threat to Tyrland’s safety. Worst of all, she is linked to a past that the Kellian would rather forget.

All three of these things – monsters, Kellian, and an entirely overpowered mage – are about to land in Kendall Stockton’s lap. The last thing Kendall wants is to try to play conscience to someone who can swat her like a bug. But innocent lives are at stake, and no-one else seems willing to ask if what is necessary is the right thing to do.

And who, exactly, is the monster?

Andrea K. Höst’s books are not easily chategorized. She mixes fantasy, science fiction and steampunk with a strong romantic element while never losing focus on plot and character development.
Her novels always feature interesting and capable heroines that are easy to identify with, sexy and thoughtful men and fully fleshed out secondary characters. There are usually multiple lgbt characters in each of her books.
